Diver Vincent Canabal looks like he’s about to lose his head but this tiger shark seems more interested in what’s in his hand.

The 34-year-old regularly feeds sharks at Tiger Beach in the Bahamas.

Explaining his rather unusual hobby, Mr Canabal said: ‘Despite their reputation most sharks are very cautious and reluctant to approach people.

‘The only reason why they are near divers is because we attracted them with a little bit of dog food.

‘The main thing is to always be cautious, swim slowly without splashing and jerky movements.’

It's possible that shark repellants could come from an unlikely source: magnets. Magnets in the water can interfere with a shark's electroreception. Don't just strap on some magnets and head to the beach, though. With current technology, sharks have to get very close to the magnets before they're affected.
